The Our Land, Our Nature project aims to create a cross-border network linking four Natural History Centers:  in a landmark initiative to highlight their environmental and cultural heritage, boosting sustainable and economic growth across regions. Despite valuable exhibits, centers’ visitor numbers are low, risking their viability. No prior cross-border effort has sought to upgrade and connect them.

Specific Objectives of the project include promoting cultural tourism, driving economic growth, enhancing visitor experience through digital and physical exhibits, upgrading staff skills, advancing environmental education, and raising public awareness for ecosystem preservation. This network will boost visibility, draw more visitors, create jobs, and strengthen local business competitiveness. Positioned as key sites for environmental and cultural tourism, the centers will host events and form partnerships to expand their influence and achieve tourism and economic goals.

The project encompasses IT upgrades (hardware/software), interactive multimedia toolkits, and innovative educational approaches to showcase biodiversity, preserving regional flora, fauna, and ecosystems. Visitors gain valuable insights into local environments, including rare and endangered species, while exhibitions, lectures, and events enrich public knowledge. As a cross-border network, these centers can serve as landmarks of natural and cultural heritage, encouraging tourist engagement and supporting economic and social development.
